Victorian Revival Chenille Holiday Ornament - Angel with Christmas TreeStarting with a repro Antique Victorian die cut as the face of my creation, here's a holiday Christmas ornament I put together. With a body made of chenille, my angel sports a muff of cream cotton, has wings of gold Dresden paper and carries a green bottle brush tree. Height is 3 1 4"; width is 1 3 4". Gold cord at the back for hanging on a Christmas tree feather tree. Very lightweight and currently the only one of its kind!

It just happens to be something I love to do in the evening while watching TV

My angel wears a crown of silver tinged opalescent stars and is clothed in white gauze

A bit of dust here and there but nothing is amiss

Don't you just hate it when you find a single antique but of Christmas that you just can't bear to use nor hide away

Set in the yellow gold are natural pearls of various tones while the leaves are enameled greenish yellow

The image is done in hushed pastel tones - not an overly Catholic image but something very subtle

Needing only a few stitches to bring back to life

the image is well known as the watercolorist's work as it did

and the delicate nature of gesso

The small spray is highlighted with some mint green/baby pink sugar pips

Santa measures about 3/4" high without the bale and clip
